✨🖤❤️💚 Happy Juneteenth from Little Hood Little Holy 💚❤️🖤✨

Today, we honor the strength, resilience, and enduring spirit of those who never stopped believing in freedom—even when freedom was delayed.

Juneteenth is more than a date in history. It is a reminder that liberation is worth fighting for, truth deserves to be told, and healing happens when communities come together in love, faith, and purpose.

As we celebrate, may we remember those who came before us, uplift those walking beside us, and continue building a future where every voice is valued and every dream has room to grow.

Freedom. Faith. Community. Legacy.

❤️🖤💚

💜 I don't have trust issues. I have pattern recognition.
I've seen enough to know that actions will always tell on people eventually. 💯

So now? I observe.
Not because I'm bitter. Not because I'm angry.
Because peace taught me that I don't have to argue with what someone consistently shows me. 💯

The beautiful thing is... They didn't turn me cold.
I'm still kind. Still loving. Still faithful. Still helping people. Still chasing dreams.
Just with better boundaries now. 😏🦋

God didn't harden my heart. He sharpened my discernment.
And that's a blessing all by itself. ❤️

Trauma Truth : Sometimes Healing Looks Like This

Some people think healing looks peaceful.

A quiet morning.
A journal.
A prayer.
A breakthrough.

Sometimes it does.

But sometimes healing looks like crawling through the ashes of everything that tried to destroy you.

Sometimes it looks messy.
Dirty.
Exhausting.
Lonely.

Sometimes it looks like surviving another day when every part of you wanted to quit.

The truth about trauma is that healing is not always beautiful.

Sometimes it's ugly crying in your car.
Sometimes it's questioning your faith.
Sometimes it's being angry.
Sometimes it's feeling nothing at all.

And sometimes...

It's simply refusing to stay where the pain left you.

If that's where you are today, hear me:

You are not broken.
You are rebuilding.

You are not failing.
You are healing.

And healing doesn't always rise gracefully.

Sometimes it claws its way out of the fire.

🎁 BONUS: HARD DAYS KIT

A while back, I created something called a **Hard Days Kit** for the days when healing feels heavier than usual.

Inside are gentle worksheets for:

✨ When you're angry at God
✨ When you feel numb or disconnected
✨ When it feels like you're backsliding
✨ Releasing what you're carrying
✨ Closing a hard day gently

Because healing isn't just for the good days.

It's for the hard ones too.

📌 Feel free to save, print, copy, or share this resource if it helps you.

And if you'd like a copy of the full workbook or want to learn more about the trauma recovery resources I'm building, send me a message. My Gum road site isn't up and running yet, but I'd be honored to connect with you.

Remember:

**Hard days do not undo healing.**
**They do not erase progress.**
**They do not change your worth.**

Keep going.
Even here.

A little hood.
A little holy.
A whole lot of surviving together.
Fifteen years with somebody is no joke.
Especially when life hasn’t exactly handed you easy chapters.
People see pictures.
Smiles.
Memories.
Vacations.
Funny moments.
But they don’t see the nights you cried together.
The stress.
The pressure.
The moments you both felt defeated.
The times life tried to pull you apart piece by piece.
And yet somehow… God kept pulling us back together.
Because real love isn’t soft all the time.
Sometimes real love looks like praying through pain.
Sometimes it looks like surviving financial struggles, emotional battles, family issues, heartbreak, trauma, exhaustion, and still waking up choosing each other.
That’s the kind of love this is.
Not perfect.
Not polished.
Not fake Facebook love.
REAL love.
The kind that says:
“I know your flaws and I’m still here.”
“I know your past and I still see your heart.”
“I know life got messy… but we’re gonna keep fighting anyway.”
See… people want kingdom blessings without kingdom endurance.
But God will absolutely test what’s real before He strengthens it.
And baby… we’ve BEEN tested.
Through every storm, every setback, every rebuild season… we survived it together.
Not because we’re perfect.
But because God covered us even when we didn’t realize He was carrying us.
15 years later and we’re still standing.
Still laughing.
Still annoying each other 😂
Still healing.
Still growing.
Still learning what unconditional love really means.
Happy Anniversary to my person. ❤️
Through every valley and every mountaintop… it’s always been you.

Some women were never taught how to rest… only how to survive.

And somewhere along the way, they learned how to smile while carrying heartbreak… how to keep showing up while silently falling apart… how to comfort everybody else while wondering who was going to comfort them.

That’s the kind of strength people praise without ever understanding the cost of it.

See, “A Little Hood • A Little Holy” was never just a catchy phrase to me. It’s the reality of being a woman who’s had to fight battles with both prayer and pain. It’s knowing how to quote scripture while also knowing what betrayal feels like. It’s asking God to soften your heart when life keeps trying to harden it. It’s surviving things you don’t even speak about because explaining the depth of your wounds would take too much energy you barely have left.

Some of us learned how to carry trauma so gracefully that people started calling it strength.

But God sees deeper than the polished version we show the world.

He sees the nights we cried in silence. The moments we almost gave up. The prayers whispered through anger. The exhaustion hidden behind “I’m okay.” The weight we carried while still trying to love people properly.

And still… He kept us.

That’s the miracle.

Not that life was easy. Not that we never broke. But that somehow God kept rebuilding us every single time the world tried to destroy us.

The hood taught me survival. But God taught me purpose.

And now I walk with both. A little rough around the edges… but covered in grace. Still healing. Still growing. Still loving. Still believing.

Because women like us? We don’t just carry pain… we turn it into wisdom, compassion, discernment, and power.

And baby… that kind of transformation only comes from God. 🤍

One thing I’ve learned the hard way…

Not every season of life is meant to be loud.

Sometimes God isolates you before He elevates you.
Sometimes you lose people because your spirit outgrew environments your heart was still attached to.
Sometimes you wander because your soul is trying to remember who you were before survival mode took over.

And honestly?
Healing is messy.

Growth is uncomfortable.
Transformation is lonely.
And finding yourself again after life humbled you can feel confusing as hell.

But you are allowed to pause.

You are allowed to step back.
To breathe.
To reevaluate.
To protect your peace.
To stop pouring into people who only loved the version of you that stayed small.

You are allowed to become softer without becoming weak.
You are allowed to outgrow chaos.
You are allowed to heal in private.

And most importantly…

You are allowed to find your way back to yourself.

A little hood.
A little holy.
Still learning.
Still healing.
Still protected by God either way. ❤️

There’s a version of me that survived things I don’t even talk about anymore.
The girl who learned to stay quiet.
The woman who had to figure everything out the hard way.
The one who smiled while carrying pain heavy enough to break her.
But somewhere between survival and healing…
God started rebuilding me.
Not perfectly.
Not all at once.
But piece by piece.
A little more wisdom.
A little more peace.
A little more discernment.
A little less fear.
See… strength isn’t always loud.
Sometimes strength is getting up again after life humbled you.
Sometimes strength is choosing not to become bitter after betrayal.
Sometimes strength is still believing in people after they gave you every reason not to.
And maybe that’s why I relate so deeply to the phrase
“A little hood, a little holy.”
Because healing doesn’t erase where you came from.
Grace doesn’t make you weak.
And being spiritual doesn’t mean you forgot how hard life can get.
It means you learned how to survive without losing your soul.
So to the women rebuilding themselves quietly…
To the ones healing while still handling business…
To the ones fighting battles internally while still showing up for everyone else…
I see you.
And God does too. ❤️
