Today we celebrate one year since the release of Lathe of Heaven’s second full length “Aurora.” This defining work blends 80s Post-Punk with elements of Science Fiction, perfectly encapsulating the nature of the band’s sound and themes. Happy anniversary to the album which lies just beyond the constraints of time. 🍻🎉🦾

“Lathe of Heaven so thoroughly channel the pop-oriented, beat-driven post-punk that briefly rose out of the British underground in the 1980s that their new album, Aurora, could be mistaken for a meticulously remastered echo. But the Brooklyn, New York, quartet is as much concerned with the future as the past.” - Pitchfork

Out today & shipping now! The Ghetto Brother’s Power-Fuerza is now on the ultimate listening format: 8-track tape! We have an extremely limited amount of these left, order your copy now before they are gone forever! And remember… music sounds better on tape 😉

Originally released in 1972, this album is steeped with songs full of 60’s Beatles influence, and Latin and soul influence. Founded by three brothers — Benjy, Robert, and Victor Melendez — the Ghetto Brothers were a unique organization, emerging in South Bronx in the mid-1960s. Part activist collective, part rock band, part youth gang, they helped organize free breakfast programs and clothing drives, spoke out about issues like police brutality, and hosted block parties, uniting folks from various communities, and even rival gangs to enjoy live music together.

Today, we’re excited to offer Power-Fuerza on Green or Red tape. Limited to twenty-two copies each. Musically, this album will surprise you. Ghetto Brothers creates lush songs, with infectious melodies and lyrics, that do not necessarily delve deep into revolutionary themes. But on the contrary, carry love tunes full of vocal harmonies, Latin rhythms with radiant, funky guitar, and the occasional drift into radical Puerto Rican nationalism🇵🇷

LISTEN — PLANTASIA IN THE GARDENS
September 2, 2026 | Allan Gardens | 6 PM - 9 PM | RSVP Required | Pay What You Can (Suggested $10)

Fifty years after Mort Garson’s ‘Mother Earth’s Plantasia’ album first invited listeners to imagine music made for plants, Polaris is bringing the album back into the garden.

Presented in partnership with Sacred Bones Records and Friends of Allan Gardens, the event brings Garson’s cult electronic album into the plant-filled environment of Allan Gardens for an evening of vinyl playback, deep listening, and conversation.

Released in 1976, ‘Mother Earth’s Plantasia’ has spent five decades growing into something far bigger than its unusual origins. Created as “warm earth music for plants and the people who love them,” the album’s playful synthesizers, strange melodies, and imagined relationship between technology and plant life have continued to find new audiences across generations.

Now, 50 years later, Plantasia returns to a setting that feels made for it.
