Confirmed = Confirmed by personnel onscene
MVA = Motor Vehicle Accident/wreck
VEH = Vehicle
INJ = Injuries
MM = Mile Marker
DOA/DOS = Dead on arrival/onscene
UNK = Unknown
REQ = Requests or Requested
MULT = Multiple
Helo = Helicopter
Bird = Helicopter
Helo on standby = Helo crew gets into helo and awaits to see if needed
Fly Helo/bird = Request it to come to location/LZ
LZ = Landing zone for Helo
Helo won't fly = Helo won't come due to weather conditions
RW = Roadway
O/S = On scene
E/R = Enroute
Expedite = Step it up, get there ASAP
Downgrade = Slow down/non-emergency incident
VEH overturned or O/T = Vehicle rolled off of wheels
Entrapment = Usually is a patient trapped in a vehicle or burning structure
Confinement = Patient tangled in vehicle, needs help out
Tools = Cutting, prying, spreading, etc tools for extrication
Extricated = Patient has been successfully removed from vehicle or area
Working Structure Fire = Active fire in a structure (residence or business)
Fully involved or F/I = Fire through entire structure or vehicle
Defensive attack = Only fight fire from outside structure, no one inside
Packed men = Fire fighters with air packs/face masks
Vent roof = Fire fighters cut hole in roof to help vent toxic/flammable smoke/gases
Charge line = Start pumping water through a fire hose pulled off FD truck
Evac Tones = Emergency evacuation of all fire fighters in structure, unstable
2nd alarm, 3rd, etc = Additional preset number of fire companies or personnel
U/C = Fire under control
Overhaul = Clean up structure & checking for hot spots once deemed U/C
NB, SB, EB, WB = North Bound Lanes, South Bound Lanes, etc. ETA = Estimated time of arrival
Trauma Patient = Severely hurt from trauma (ie: MVA)
NWS = The National Weather Service
T-Storm = Thunderstorm
