Rainy, gloomy, cloudy, cool. Not much getting around this crappy morning. I know the big question is, will it clear enough this afternoon for the boat races?? I make no promises, but, it still looks like the steadiest showers are this morning, and become much more sporadic in afternoon. But will they lighten enough, and in time? It'll be very close. Best place for updates is their page below.

For next week, we certainly keep the 'cool' all week, and more clouds for Monday and Tuesday, but the associated rain has shifted further south, so for the time being, we look primarily dry for much of the week.

☁️Well, we've made it to another weekend. Today we're looking cooler and pretty cloudy, so consider any breaks of sun a bonus. Any breeze still looks highest in the morning, and most importantly, we're rain free today. And the thing I do have to mention ... 7:00pm sunset. Yep, last one 😭

❓And Sunday. Yeah, still looks pretty crappy. Cloudy and very cool for sure, with at least some fog, drizzle, and showers through the morning, BUT, I do think there could be some breaks in the showers for afternoon. I'm not saying it remotely turns nice, because it likely won't, but will there be enough dry time and good enough visibility to let the big boats safely race? I know that's something organizers will be watching extremely closely. I wouldn't write it off just yet 🤞

☁️And for most of next week, we get locked in to north to east flow with an interestingly active pattern. This will keep things cloudy and very cool with occasional showers possible at times through the week. Quintessential Fall weather to start the season.

🍁 Fall is certainly upon us.

🍁 Fall doesn't officially arrive until Tuesday, but weather-wise, it's rolling in tomorrow. Cooler North winds shifting to the East coupled with increasing clouds will take us from the mid to upper 70s today, down to the mid to upper 60s for tomorrow. The good news, I think the wind dies off through Saturday morning, giving us a pretty standard breeze for Saturday afternoon.

🌧️ And Sunday... Well, I'm still working on Sunday 😅 A system will be moving in from the West, with winds locally shifting from the SE to the SW, so, clouds are a certainty, with probably a good bit of morning fog and drizzle. High temps will struggle to the low to mid 60s. Then the question becomes, how bad are the showers?

☁️ There is still quite the spread with intensity and timing, with some models coming in with all day steady rain, and others just keeping it overcast with daytime spotty showers and most rain holding off untill after 4-6pm. So yeah, I'm saying there's a chance, but also, prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

🚤 It is the first weekend of boat races on the lake, and while Saturday near Lake Forest is looking good, I know the race organizers with be doing their best to safely get as much Main Lake racing as possible in on Sunday. Their Facebook and webpage will be the best spot for updates this weekend.

🚘 I'd say "hope to see you out there", but my travels take me from Lubec, ME to Lincoln, NH this weekend, so instead I'll say, hope to see those photos!

Morning all. Aside from these early sneaky showers moving through this morning, it's a mixed bag, albeit warm, 3 day stretch. Today and Friday will feature mixed sun and clouds. Tomorrow could be a little dicey with skies going cloudy and a few occasional showers possible from late morning onward.

Friday night, breezy winds shift through the north to the east causing high temps to move from the upper 70s this week to the mid-to-upper 60s with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies for Saturday.

And then Sunday 🫣 Right now, the best I can call it is a close call. Breezy, cooler air remains in place with mostly cloudy skies for sure. Unfortunately, there's still no clear cut telling when showers and periods of rain move into the area, but they will be moving in at some point on Sunday. I hate to say it currently looks like all day showers this far out, but that is what many models are showing. There are some hold outs though, so we'll still wait and see if they ultimately decide to hold off until later in the day 🤞

Luckily, not much to talk about the next 4 days. It's looking breezy and cool today with a warming pattern through mid-week. The next shower chance looks to come Thursday into Friday.

Then, heading into our first of 2 boat race weekends, we're looking pretty good. No major systems or complete wash outs expected, but, we might have a bit of a breeze at times, variable cloud cover, and maybe morning fog too. If any day has the threat of showers it'll be Sunday, but we'll wait and see a bit on that. For now, I'm optimistic.
