Just dropped a new episode of The Around the House Show and I’m officially over paint companies’ 2026 “Color of the Year” names.
They sound like someone let an AI loose on a yoga retreat brochure. Enough.
So I did what needed to be done: I renamed them with the brutal honesty the world deserves. My two favorite fixes from the episode:
→ “Rental White” (you know exactly the shade)
→ “Smoker’s Den” (that yellowish beige that’s been on the walls since flip phones were cool)
If you’ve ever stood in the paint aisle wondering who hurt these marketing teams, this episode is for you. We laugh, we roast, and we finally give these colors the names they were born to have.
Link in the first comment. Come listen and then drop your most savage, real-life color name below—I’m reading every single one.
Who’s with me?

Hey Around the House friends! Be careful with some of these budget drills that we see that are off brands on Amazon and other online platforms. This one looks like it caused about $50k in fire damage. Saving $50 can cost you a lot more than that. -Eric G

A cordless drill battery charger that overheated on Sunday caused a fire that resulted in $50,000 in damage, according to West Metro Fire Rescue.

“Caught on the security camera at Cannon Beach, Oregon… and I’m absolutely speechless 😳
The garbage truck rolls up, the guy hops out, walks straight over to my trash can… and purposely KNOCKS IT OVER before jumping back in and driving off. Didn’t dump it, didn’t bump it — full-on kicked it on its side like he had a personal grudge against my bin.
Video from the camera below 👇
Am I the only one who’s ever gotten this kind of 5-star garbage service?? Drop your trash-day horror stories in the comments — I need to know I’m not alone here 😂
(North Oregon Coast / Cannon Beach locals… is this normal now part of the weekly pickup??)” Thanks Recology!
