🦀 History came alive on the Tuckerton Seaport’s sellout tour to Crab Island’s “Stinkhouse.” Once a booming fish factory, it’s now reclaimed by nature — a haunting reminder of the days when the bay smelled like industry, not salt air. 🦀 https://www.jerseyshoreonline.com/southern-ocean/exploring-crab-islands-forgotten-past/ 🌾

TUCKERTON – Some might have thought it too cold and windy to venture out with a nor’easter approaching the coast. 🌞 Learning Takes Root at Elms Elementary! 🌱

Elms Elementary School celebrated the grand opening of its brand-new Outdoor Environmental Learning Center and Garden — a hands-on space where students can explore, grow, and learn about the environment! 🌻

From raised garden beds and a greenhouse to a weather station and kindness rock garden, this amazing project was made possible through grants from Sustainable Jersey for Schools and New Jersey Natural Gas, plus help from local partners and volunteers.

Teacher Shaina Brenner, a Milken Educator Award winner, called it “a wonderful celebration” and hopes the new center will “inspire a lifetime of stewardship.” 💚

🔥 Local History Comes Alive! 🔥

Monmouth County author Rick Geffken has released his newest book, “New Jersey’s Revolutionary Rivalry: The Untold Story of Colonel Tye and Captain Huddy.” It dives into one of the most dramatic and overlooked stories of the Revolutionary War — a fierce local feud that rocked Sandy Hook and the Jersey Shore.

Geffken, who’s been exploring our area’s past for decades, says he hopes readers realize how much history happened right here at home. 🇺🇸
