Discernment is one of the most underrated leadership skills, especially at the start of the year.

Knowing what not to pursue can be just as important as setting new goals. Discernment helps leaders avoid unnecessary pivots, resist reactive decisions, and choose growth that aligns with their values.

At Like It Marketing, we believe good marketing decisions are rarely rushed.
They are weighed.
They are considered carefully.

Clarity earned this way becomes a true advantage.

High-caliber clients are paying attention to how you begin the year, even if they never say it out loud.

They notice whether your messaging feels rushed or rooted.
They notice whether your brand leads with clarity or urgency.
They notice whether your presence feels considered or reactive.

January sets the tone quietly. Not through bold declarations, but through intention.

The way you show up now often signals the kind of partnership you are prepared to offer all year.

A new year doesn’t require reinvention.
It invites discernment.

As business owners, it’s easy to rush into planning, fixing, and striving. Before doing any of that, it’s worth pausing to ask a simpler question. What is this season asking of me?

Growth doesn’t always mean more.
Sometimes it means deeper roots.
Sometimes it means pruning.
Sometimes it means trust.

As you enter this new season, my hope is that your work is guided by wisdom rather than pressure, and that the foundations you build are steady enough to support what’s ahead.

Today, our home is filled with laughter, worship music, and the smell of coffee and cinnamon.

This is my favorite time of year. Not because of the lights, the gifts, or the traditions, but because of what it all points back to: the incredible gift of Jesus. ✨

This season reminds me that joy doesn’t come from a perfectly wrapped present. It comes from the peace of knowing we are deeply loved, fully known, and eternally cared for.

I pray your Christmas is full of warmth, wonder, and gentle reminders of God’s faithfulness in both the big moments and the quiet ones.

From our family to yours,
Merry Christmas. 🤍

A little over a month ago, I decided to join the 5:30am club. ☀️

If I’m being honest, it wasn’t about hustle — it was about survival.
Working full-time while caring for a baby at home means every minute matters.

So I started setting my alarm early — coffee in hand, laptop open — to give myself one quiet hour before my girl wakes up.

It’s become sacred time.
The stillness. The focus. The ability to hear my own thoughts before the day starts spinning.

Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
• Mornings are peaceful when they’re intentional.
• One focused hour beats three distracted ones.
• And the earlier I start, the earlier I can wrap up — usually by 2:30 on meeting-free days — so I can give my afternoons to her (and to the home that God’s entrusted me with).

This rhythm isn’t perfect, but it’s been good.
It’s helped me serve my clients better, feel more present with my daughter, and find small pockets of calm in the chaos.

Tell me — are you an early riser too? Or do you thrive in the quiet of late nights? I’d love to hear how you structure your work rhythms. 🤍

A very special thanks to Shannah with Central Florida Senior Solutions for inviting my husband and me as guests to Noel & New Beginnings Gala. It was a lovely evening and a reminder of the impact my clients are making on women & families in Polk County. I feel honored to be a part of that. Great job putting together this event, ladies of WRC! It was beautiful.

I’ve been burned in business — twice.

Two clients didn’t pay their invoices, even with signed contracts and completed work.
It hurt, deeply.

But instead of chasing payment, I chose peace.
I forgave, learned, and strengthened my boundaries.

Because forgiveness isn’t weakness — it’s wisdom.
And God always provides what was lost. 🤍

Can you imagine this?
You launch your business with hope and a prayer, get your very first lead… and say no to working with them.

That’s exactly what I did when I started Like It Marketing.

Why?
Their business model and audience just didn’t feel aligned. I was unfamiliar with both — and deep down, I knew I wasn’t the best person to serve them.

Something about it didn’t sit right in my spirit.
And I’ve learned to trust that feeling — because for me, that quiet nudge is the Holy Spirit’s way of guiding my decisions.

Was I wrong about that person? Maybe.
But I have zero regrets.

That “no” taught me one of the most important lessons about business ownership:
You don’t have to say yes to every opportunity that knocks.

I refuse to work with someone just for the sake of income.
I want every client relationship to feel right — built on shared values, mutual trust, and genuine peace.

That’s the beauty of entrepreneurship: you get to choose alignment over approval, and discernment over desperation.

So if you’re feeling that tug of hesitation about a prospect, partnership, or project… listen.
Peace is data, too. 🤍

While I like to think I serve my community through my business — not just by helping clients grow their brands, but through prayer, encouragement, and honest conversation — I’ve also been called to serve outside of work.

This year, I started a church group for moms called The Mama Vine. 🌿

The Mama Vine is a gathering place for moms who want to grow in their faith while raising their little ones. We create space for connection, encouragement, and spiritual growth — whether that’s through conversation at a local park, prayer over coffee, or laughter in the middle of the beautiful chaos of motherhood.

Our goal is simple: to help moms take one small step closer to Jesus, together. 💛

Leading this group has filled my heart in more ways than I can count. It’s reminded me that serving others refills you, too.

If you’re a business owner, I want to gently encourage you — find something outside of work and family that allows your cup to be filled. Serving is one of the most meaningful ways to do that.

And if you’re looking for a way to give back this Christmas season, start local.

I know one of my clients, Women's Resource Center of Florida, Inc., is always looking for volunteers — and they’re doing incredible work for women in need. 🤍

If you’ve noticed your reach dropping lately, take a deep breath — nothing’s wrong with your content.

The holidays are simply a different season.
People are shopping, traveling, cooking, wrapping gifts, hosting family, attending church services, and soaking up time offline.

They’re not scrolling as much… and that’s okay. 🤍

It’s completely normal for engagement and reach to dip this time of year — across every industry. Once the season settles, those numbers rise again.

But here’s the truth: your analytics don’t tell the full story.

The posts you share now still plant seeds.
They nurture trust.
They remind your audience that you’re steady — even when the algorithm is quiet.

Don’t chase performance this month.
Focus on presence.

Because when January comes, the businesses that stayed present and consistent through the slower season are the ones people remember first.

So keep showing up — gently, purposefully, and without pressure. 🌿

Before I ever design a graphic or write a caption for a client, I pause and ask three questions.

These questions shape everything — the strategy, the tone, and ultimately, the results.

1️⃣ What’s the goal?
Every piece of content should serve a clear purpose. Are we building awareness, driving discovery calls, or sending traffic to a site? Knowing the objective changes everything, from how the caption is written to what the call-to-action should be.

2️⃣ How does this add value?
The best content either entertains, informs, or inspires. I always ask: is this serving the audience in a meaningful way, or just filling the feed?

3️⃣ What’s the best format for this message?
Some ideas shine as Reels. Others belong in carousels or still photos. Choosing the right format makes the message easier to absorb and more likely to resonate.

When you start asking these questions before you create, your content instantly feels more intentional, aligned, and effective.

That’s what I help my clients do — create content that doesn’t just look beautiful… it works beautifully.
