I don’t follow friends or family from my social media business accounts, and honestly, most business owners probably shouldn’t either. 😬

Here’s the simple reason: your business feed should support your business. Who you follow shapes what you see, what you learn, and even what type of content the algorithm thinks you care about.

If your feed is full of personal/unrelated posts, it’s really easy to lose focus or miss out on industry ideas or leads that could actually help you grow.

It’s not about avoiding the people you care about, it’s about keeping your work space, well, a work space.

You can cheer on your friends and family from your personal account and still keep your business feed intentional and actually useful.

On a day like today, we’re reminded of the importance of connection over division.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t familiar with Charlie Kirk before this week. But, his death is tragic, and it’s another reminder that violence is never the answer.

Do I think social media is solely to blame for where we are in this country? No. But it has definitely added fuel to the fire. Unfortunately, outrage spreads faster than facts, echo chambers form easily, and algorithms reward the loudest voices.

Here’s the flip side: we also have the power to make social media a better place — to post with purpose, pause before we share, and use these platforms to build community, not chaos.

Because at the end of the day…
Social media is the tool, and we’re the impact. 💛

FYI! 🗣

Hiring a social media specialist for your business can actually save you money in the long run. If you can’t commit to consistently posting, you will likely lose money from missed business opportunities.
