This week, we're excited to spotlight a special music retailer in our home state of Florida.

Locally owned and located in Tallahassee, Beethoven & Company, a music store has been supporting music educators and musicians in their community since their founding by former owner and life-long arts advocate Tom Buchanan in 1999. Today, Beethoven & Company thrives under the leadership and expertise of owner Claire Williamson.

An oboe player originally from Texas, Claire moved to Tallahassee in 2005 to attend graduate school at Florida State University. You'll find her involved in all facets of the business, from shipping online orders, to assisting universities with large scale events. In addition to working at the store, Claire also plays in the Tallahassee Winds, as well as the occasional musical theatre pit. Outside of her musical endeavors, Claire enjoys working in her garden, baking, watching movies, and traveling with her husband and son. Her favorite oboe piece is the Vaughan Williams concerto.

Each quartet can be performed by any combination of wind and percussion instruments (in the wind series), or any combination of string instruments (in the string series) offering the same versatility that has made the Adaptable Ensemble Series so popular. 🎶 Music Dealer spotlight! 🎶 Brett Rynhart of Rynhart Music has gone above and beyond for his local school music programs. Whenever Brett calls us, he is always on the road getting his orders placed in between schools. Brett spends his days visiting schools, picking up repairs, and (often literally) going the extra mile.
⭐🎶 Facts about Brett🎶⭐
Brett has a BSED in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He formed Rynhart Music in 2013, and has been operating as a "music store on wheels," servicing local school music programs. Brett was recently hired as Assistant Manager of Baltimore Brass of Bloomsburg (opening later in 2026), and will continue to operate Rynhart Music. Brett and his wife, Amy, live in Berwick, PA with their 2 daughters and 2 cats.
