Life update.

HUGE congrats to Jess for making LCA! 👏👏

If you've been following along, you know she's been grinding in that right seat putting in the hours, the studying, and the dedication it takes to earn this. All that hard work officially paid off and she absolutely crushed it. We couldn't be more proud.

Even with everything going on: work, school, all of it, we're making time for the fun stuff. Jess planned a trip with a friend and Gabriel crashed the party (obviously). We went hiking, tried rock sliding, took a fall or two…

Flying from Lakeland to Bartow and old habits. 😅

“Flaps 10.”

“Flaps 10, please.”

I look over at my CFI. He’s just sitting there. Smiling.

That’s when it hit me. This isn’t a two-pilot cockpit. Nobody’s backing me up on the calls. No First Officer reaching for the flap handle. No callouts. No response.

Just me, a Cessna, and the humbling reminder that I have to do it ALL myself.

Coming from the airline world, you get used to a crew. You call it, someone does it. Out here in GA? You call it, you do it, you fly it.
