The Ramas Project, created by Flamboyán Theatre, exists to give Puerto Rican theatre artists the financial resources, professional connections, and visibility they deserve. Whether based on the island or in the diaspora, our goal is simple: help Puerto Ricans tell their stories on stage. The program will connect Puerto Rican artists in the diaspora and on the island in order to develop works that unite Puerto Rican communities and allows for an exchange of ideas and experiences that will bridge the distances between where we live and our relationship with our homeland.

Our next show is our take on a cult classic! The Mo********er with the Hat is one of the funniest, darkest plays about addiction and toxic love. The story focuses on Jackie and Veronica, who have been together since they were teens, during which they both became addicts and in Jackie's case, a small time criminal.

When Jackie sobers up and starts to get his life back together, he discovers a hat in his house that doesn't belong to him, beginning a mad search across New York to find the owner of the hat. The journey forces Jackie to face the truth about himself and Veronica, who is still abusing drugs, leading to a powerful conclusion.

This production is our first collaboration with our partners The Three Leaches Theatre, and runs from Oct 23-Nov 1.
