The City of Lamar would like to inform residents that both public restrooms at Willow Creek Park are now open following temporary closure due to vandalism and graffiti.

The City encourages all residents and park visitors to help maintain our public spaces. If you notice any suspicious activity, please report it to the Lamar Police Department using their non-emergency line at 719-336-3977.

Per Daniel’s request cremation will take place and there will be no services. Daniel was born on March 22, 1963, at Lamar, Colorado to Cirilo and Louise Silva and passed away on July 18, 2025 at his home in Granada, Colorado at the age of 62. Daniel is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lydia Ann Silva. Daniel is survived by his sons, Timothy Lee Silva (Bree Duran) of Pueblo, Colorado, Jeremey Joseph Silva (Yecenia Garcia) of Lamar, Colorado along with seven grandchildren, Sable, Jonathen, Jissel, Cierra, Aiyana, Jayvon and Dominic....

Chase Brunson, left, and Hannah Borunda at National AAU Taekwondo Championship The National AAU Taekwondo Championships were held in Salt Lake City from June 29 – July 5, 2025. Two students who train under Grand Master Choi in Lamar participated. They were Hannah Borunda and Chase Brunson. Chase participated in 4 divisions and won two gold and two bronze medals. Over 2,200 people participated in the events.
