Last week was the beginning of the summer league for the Lampasas basketball team.

The boys traveled to Hamilton on Monday for games against Hamilton and Clifton, and then to Georgetown on Thursday for games against split squads for Chaparral and Harker Heights.

The Lampasas Animal Shelter is looking to offload animals as the facility reaches full capacity, according to shelter Supervisor Kasey Schwartzer.

Through the end of today, the shelter is offering free adoptions for dogs in its care. Also, the shelter allows those interested in adopting a dog the opportunity to foster the animal before committing to adoption to ensure it is the right fit in the home.

The Lampasas Animal Shelter is looking to offload animals as the facility reaches full capacity, according to shelter Supervisor Kasey Schwartzer. As of Monday afternoon, the shelter had 50 dogs and 34 cats in its care.
