I’ve been writing about travel, food and wine for nearly a decade… and this is still one of my favorite events of the year.

Kalahari Food & (Not Just) Wine Festival in the Poconos is exactly what the name suggests — and also so much more.

Picture this: you wander through the entire resort tasting your way from one chef station to the next. Oyster bars, seafood towers, chef-inspired dishes from Kalahari’s signature restaurants, craft cocktails, local wine, beer and spirits — all while live entertainment and chef demos are happening around you.

What I love most is that it feels like a moving food festival. You’re not stuck at one tasting table — you explore the resort, discover new favorites, talk with winemakers and chefs, and somehow always end up making new friends along the way.

Kalahari might be famous for having America’s largest indoor waterparks, but their dining scene is honestly underrated — and this event puts it fully on display.

āœ” food samplings
āœ” wine, beer & spirits tastings
āœ” chef demonstrations
āœ” live entertainment

All in one ticket.

If you love food festivals, this one is absolutely worth planning a weekend around. Use my promo code WPS20 to get an additional $20 off each GA ticket (up to four tickets)! Note: Users must create a Tock account to redeem promo code.

If you’ve only been to here for dinner, you might not realize just how special their wine program is. The wine list is incredible (old world, new world, hidden gems) and the team loves helping you discover something new.

Pair that with their chef-driven seasonal menu (the kind of food that makes you stop mid-bite) and it turns an ordinary night out into an experience.

A few things to know:
• Their monthly tastings are welcoming and fun, whether you’re new to wine or a total nerd about it.
• They also host special wine dinners and fun events throughout the year (give them a follow to keep up).
• And if you’re there for dinner, ask for a pairing — they’re really good at that.

For us, these nights became about more than wine.

Just a reminder to slow down, use all five senses, and actually savor the moment.

Which, honestly, feels like a pretty good way to live.

1 year of us.
Some anniversaries get candlelight.
Some get an entire garden glowing. ✨

To celebrate one year together, we made a little evening of it at 1906 at Longwood Gardens, tucked beneath the Conservatory and overlooking the fountains where so much of what’s on the plate is grown just steps away in the gardens themselves.

Seasonal dishes, a beautiful wine list, and that rare feeling that you’re dining inside the landscape rather than just next to it.

And then… we stepped back outside.

Right now Longwood transforms after dark for Garden Glow, when the pathways, fountains, and conservatory light up in the most magical way. We wandered through SPARK installations, glowing trees, and quiet garden paths that feel almost dreamlike.

If you’re planning a visit, here’s what to know:
✨ Make reservations for 1906 well in advance (it books quickly).
✨ You’ll need timed garden tickets to enter Longwood.
✨ Pair dinner with Garden Glow and stay for the evening light installations.
✨ Allow time to wander — the magic really happens when you slow down.

Sometimes the best dates aren’t elaborate plans…
just beautiful places, good food, and the reminder to savor your one wild and precious life.

Save this for your next romantic Pennsylvania night out. šŸŒ™
