Lancaster, TX- Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) has confirmed mosquito samples that have tested positive for West Nile Virus (WNV), detected through routine mosquito surveillance.
Mosquito Control Treatment Schedule:
Wednesday, August 27, 9:00pm to 5:00am
Thursday, August 28, 9:00pm to 5:00am
Positive Trap Locations:
2800 block of McCormick Dr. 75134
Residents are advised to follow the "Four Ds" to reduce the risk of WNV:
DEET: Use insect repellent containing DEET.
DRESS: Wear long sleeves and pants, especially during dawn and dusk.
DRAIN: Empty standing water where mosquitoes breed.
DUSK & DAWN: Limit outdoor activities during these peak mosquito hours.
Please stay inside during spraying times. Spraying will be rescheduled if wind speeds exceed 10 mph or in case of bad weather.
