Lights Go Down by The Neighborly

We are excited to announce the release of The Neighborly's first single today. We put a lot of hard work and fun into making this happen. Thanks go out to Jake Ritchey who co-produced and played the drums and percussion, Ty Godfrey played guitars, Mike Bitts on bass, The Lovely Tymira Pearson on backing vocals and Anthony S Guyer, (myself) on recording mixing, and producing. I even got to sneak a little guitar playing on this track which I never do. Thanks everyone and please check these guys out. Great music.

It's super easy to record music. Anyone can do it. But to create music that has meaning and depth is something I've been chasing most of my creative life. It's so rewarding to make music with people that get this and are chasing it with you. The Neighborly do a great job of telling the story of their new single. We were so privileged to be part of it. Thanks to my musical compatriots who jumped in with both feet. Ty Godfrey, Yasser Sanchez, DeJuan Rosado, Imer Lopez. You guys helped me take this song to the next level. Who's next?

This is the non sexy part of owning a studio and being committed to the craft. This piece of equipment has been sent back for repair 4 times each time I had to fight a tech that was convinced I didn't know what I was talking about but each time a different resistor or capacitor was switched out with an issue. All in a quest for analog tone. Yea a plug in probably would have been easier. Here's hoping repair 4 is the one.

Let's talk about some amazing service here. I am so happy with Audio-Technica right now. My favorite headphones are the ATH-M50's. About 6 months ago wear and tear got the best of them and they died. I was thinking I would have to replace them. At 150$ I was dragging my feet. I finally decided to send them in to Audio-Technica to have them repaired. It took less than a week and they completley refurbished them. New cable, new headband, and new earpads. All for about half what it would cost to buy a new pair. And they sent back my after market ear pads that were still in good shape. Thanks AT.

Just listened to final mastered tracks for the Mark Derose album I've been working on that were done by my favorite mastering magician Tom Volpicelli at The Mastering House. It's so great to work with a pro like Tom who know's his craft and is able to maintain the integrity of the mixes I worked so hard on but still bring them a few notches higher. I have been disappointed before by hearing mastered tracks that I mixed by less experienced guys that just compressed and added high end and ended up making the track sound smaller. You owe it to your art and craft to work with a master like Tom. Let's give a holler from others who have experienced Volpicelli's skill. http://www.masteringhouse.com/
