The 2025 recreational bay scallop season for the Pasco Zone opened earlier this month and will remain open through Aug. 18.

This includes all state waters south of the Hernando-Pasco county line and north of the Anclote Key Lighthouse in northern Pinellas County, including all waters of the Anclote River.

St. Joseph's Hospital - North in Lutz will open a $2 million, 5,431-square-foot, eight-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit tomorrow with “couplet care” rooms.

The NICU will have two private couplet care rooms, each measuring 525 square feet, where mothers and babies are cared for together. Normally, mothers and babies are separated when babies need to go to the NICU.

Fehr & Peers is developing Safe Streets Pasco, a plan designed to reduce transportation-related fatalities and severe injuries.

Pasco County’s Metropolitan Planning Organization won a $320,000 Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant in 2023 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to create a safety action plan.
