Join the Lander Police Department, Lander Volunteer Fire Department, City of Lander, and Fremont County Sheriff's Office on Halloween! We will be set up from 3:30-5:00 PM at the corner of South 4th Street and Main Street in Lander to hand out candy and trinkets. Wear your costume and plan to stop by and trick-or-treat with your local heroes who wear their capes every day!

WRTA SafeRides are free! On Friday and Saturday nights, catch a ride anywhere around the Lander or Riverton area. Call 307-856-9782 (WRTA).

Ages 13+ can take a SafeRide. If your child is looking for a ride home from a game at LVHS, keep SafeRide in mind!

You can catch a ride to or from a restaurant, to the grocery store, to a sporting event, or to a friends house - it doesn't matter. Just call 856-WRTA for a SafeRide in our community!

Ready for Takeoff? Learn How to Become a Pilot at Lander Workshop

Have you ever dreamed of flying an airplane? Here’s your chance to find out what it takes to become a pilot right here in Lander.

On Saturday, October 18 at 8 AM, the Lander Airport Terminal will host a free “Learn to Fly” session open to anyone curious about aviation, from teenagers to adults.

During this hands-on session, participants will meet local pilots from the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), discover the steps involved in earning a pilot’s license, and explore local training opportunities through Fremont Flight. Attendees will also receive a free six-month EAA membership, a pilot logbook, and information about reimbursement programs for those who successfully pass the FAA knowledge exam.

The Learn to Fly event is a free community program with no obligations or prior experience required. It is presented in partnership with EAA, the City of Lander, the LOR Foundation, and Fremont Flight.

Come see how you can take the first step toward earning your wings. Your next adventure might just start at Hunt Field in Lander.

Dispose of Unused Medications Safely

Drug Take Back Day will be held on Friday, October 25, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Riverton Police Department. This event offers a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused or expired medications.

If you can’t make it that day, you can still drop off medications year-round at the Lander Police Department during regular business hours.
