We’re wrapping up a great Father’s Day weekend after 4 days of camping and wheeling in the Bald Mountain OHV network up above Fresno, Ca. With a bunch of trails from 2 rated up to 8 you will have plenty to explore up here in the Bald Mountain network. The lake trails like Coyote, Mirror, Strawberry and Swamp are the most difficult and if you’re feeling real aggressive and want to camp and ride spend 3 days on The Dusy Ershim and thank me later. Unforgettable bucket list experience. Click the "Bald Mountain" link above for map and more info.

Today we started with the Basecamp Trail rated 5 on Onx. Trail description per Onx: Basecamp (FS 26E328) is a dynamic and engaging “two-track” adventure that packs a surprising amount of variety into its length. Starting off Rock Creek Road (FS 9S009) and Flat Rock (FS 9S009G), this trail quickly establishes itself as a granite playground. The tread is a diverse mix of dirt, decomposed granite (DG), sand, and embedded boulders, flanked at times by impressive granite rock walls that give the route a canyon-like feel. The undisputed highlight is the descent toward Rock Creek, where drivers must negotiate a significant “waterfall” rock obstacle just before splashing through the creek crossing itself and then negotiating the climb back up the granite steps on the other side This trail isn’t just an obstacle course; it connects directly to Plain (FS 26E211) and offers access to a large dispersed camping area popular with groups, making it a perfect hub for a weekend of wheeling.
