Lungi, Sierra Leone – This morning, Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone and President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), joined her husband, His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio, as they ferried across to Lungi alongside His Excellency General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of the Gabonese Republic, and Her Excellency Mrs. Zita Oligui Nguema, First Lady of the Gabonese Republic.

The journey across the estuary reflected the warm friendship and strong diplomatic ties between Sierra Leone and Gabon, following a series of high-level engagements during the Gabonese delegation's visit to Sierra Leone.

The occasion further underscored the close relationship shared by the two First Families and reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to strengthening cooperation, promoting regional unity, and advancing mutual development across Africa.
