I’m kinda proud of this smart, beautiful, funny, tough, talented young lady. She’s busting her butt today baking some of the finest pies you’ll ever see or eat. Tomorrow she’ll be peddling her sweet treats at the lake hope lodge. We’ll be doing blacksmithing demonstrations in the parking lot so stop by and say hello on your way to her booth.

So I have something for ANY member of the family from a dinner bell for grandma to a soup ladle for grandpas yearly batch of ham hocks and beans to knives for the wife and kids. Even a chicken garden fixture for that uncle that you drew for the gift exchange that you don’t really like much but you know he’s fond of gardening (dude, I’ve been there). Start your holiday shopping (or finish it if you’re like my great aunt who starts in January but still manages to get me a sweater every year) at the Bob Evans farm festival this weekend Friday through Sunday or catch us at our other local shows.

Always a great time at SOFA quad state. Amazing clinics, fun competition, great venders. Can’t wait for next year.

I’m amazed how fast time has flown by. 20 years ago I was a short order grill operator at a Waffle House in Bowling Green and honestly probably peaking. On a whim I decided to check out Hocking College and after going on a tour of the farrier department I decided to sign up. By the end of September in 2005 I had established my logo, started trimming hooves, and doing blacksmithing demonstrations. At the end of September I will have been in business for 20 years!!! I’ve learned so much, met so many interesting people and had so many great experiences.

At Bob Evans farm festival this year we will be celebrating the start of my 20th year with a special challenge. Come check us out and stay tuned for some cool posts as the year goes on.

Check out my new kitchen knife I’m calling the “Emma” with ebony wood handle, a polyurethane and copper bolster and 15n20 full tang steel blade. I made one for my daughter a few years ago and it’s the most popular knife in our kitchen.

They are building up steam to power the saw mill. It’s a beautiful day here at the hocking county fairgrounds in Logan Ohio. I hope you guys come out to see the sights at this year’s Ag Days. Antique tractors, hit and miss engines, petting zoo, etc. I can smell the food booths and the home made pork rinds. Plus a couple semi trained gorillas doing some team striking and blacksmithing demonstrations.

My suppliers due to economic reasons have raised their prices a good bit for my farrier tools and supplies. Not their fault it’s just economics. But due to their increase I’m going to have to increase my prices as well in June. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.
