years ago - Reno Omokri claims.
Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has argued that available security data indicate that Nigeria is more secure under President Bola Tinubu’s administration than it was eight years ago, stressing that policy discussions should be guided by facts rather than emotions.
In a statement posted on X on Thursday, Omokri maintained that an objective assessment of security indicators shows progress in the country’s fight against insecurity since Tinubu assumed office.
According to Reno, 7,752 people were killed in Nigeria in 2015, while 550 deaths were recorded last year, based on figures he referenced from the Global Terrorism Index (GTI).
He argued that these numbers show significant improvement in the country’s security situation, adding that Nigeria has moved away from a period when far more people were being k+lled across the country.
