Although it still has yet to receive House approval and get signed by the Governor, license fees could go up, yet again.
Not a good move with declining numbers of hunters and anglers!

After the 2006 Proposal 3 debacle, could we still see a dove season in our near future?
Add that with the possibility of a Sandhill Crane season.
Imagine, dove and ribeye of the sky, in our plates by fall, 2026.
That said, I won't hold my breath.

Two proposed bills in Michigan would add two animals to the hunting season.

Our prayers are with the family and friends of Byron Ferguson.
Many times he visited the MI Deer & Turkey Spectacular and even shared time with us on the show.
Thanks for the memories!

One of the all time great archers, Byron Ferguson has passed away. In recent years Byron had finally gotten some of the dues he most richly deserved being inducted into the Archers Hall of Fame and Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame. He was more than just a trick shooter but a true ambassador to the sport. He was my friend and an all around great person. I am glad to have known him and thankful for what he meant and did for the outdoor industry for so many years. RIP and prayers and thoughts to his family in the difficult upcoming days.

I usually do not speak out too much about State government or the MI DNR.

However, I call BS on all involved!

Handle the budget, sell the licenses and quit messing with the people who keep Michigan's natural resources funded!!!

Guess what September 15th means in Michigan?

As a kid, this was an exciting day for me.
It was time to put my skills of marksmanship and patience to work.
What a great way to teach a kid about hunting in the Great Lakes State!

I just stopped by the Lansing DNR field office, to check in on the very first "Deer Drop-In Monday."
It was encouraging to see fellow hunters as well as pick up some great swag and talk with the nice folks there.
