EAST LANSING, MI (10-25-25) – In one of college football’s most intense rivalries, the Michigan Wolverines reclaimed the Paul Bunyan Trophy with a 31-20 win over the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday night at Spartan Stadium.

Michigan’s ground game proved dominant, amassing 276 rushing yards. Justice Haynes ( #22) led the charge with 152 yards and two touchdowns, while Jordan Marshall ( #23) added 110 yards and a score. The Wolverines used a steady mix of power runs and short passes to control the tempo and wear down the Spartan defense.

For Michigan State, Makhi Frazier ( #5) shined with 109 rushing yards, and quarterback Aidan Chiles ( #2) threw for 130 yards. Despite flashes of momentum, turnovers and missed opportunities in the red zone prevented the Spartans from capitalizing.

LANSING, Michigan (10-24-25) — Final Score: Lansing Sexton Big Reds 46, Lansing Eastern Quakers 0.

The Big Reds left no doubt who runs the Capital City, rolling to a 46–0 shutout over their longtime rivals to finish the regular season with five straight wins.

This isn’t just any matchup — it’s a classic Lansing rivalry that traces back to 1928, when it was Lansing Central vs. Eastern before Central became Sexton in 1947. But lately, it’s been pure domination: Eastern hasn’t beaten Sexton since 2001, and after tonight’s win, Sexton has outscored the Quakers 278–12 over the last five meetings.

Sexton’s offense played with rhythm and power, pounding the ground and attacking through the air, while the defense stood like a brick wall. The Big Reds now charge into the postseason con fuego, carrying momentum and pride. The Quakers, meanwhile, look to regroup and rebuild for the next chapter of this historic rivalry.
