Iāve lost count of the amount of Physical Therapy patients who have told me their sleep patterns have gone out the window since 2020.
I have dozens of patients staying up past 2 amā¦. Even though they donāt really want to ⦠they just canāt seem to get back on track ā¦.
And itās not their faultā¦. The unique circumstances of 2020 forced everyone to isolateā¦. Many are working from home, as well. So if we couldnāt see family and friends in person ⦠What else are we going to do?
š±Turn to screen time, of course š! All the patients Iāve spoken with are glued to their smartphones, late into the night ⦠and even into the middle of the night, if they wake up ā¦
To make matters worse, most people are feeling pretty cruddy already ⦠depression and anxiety are rampant because of our lack of social interaction and interrupted routines. A lack of structure causes disorder.
Without restful sleep ⦠Joints hurt more, we feel more fuzzy, irritable, and sad.
Can you relate to this? If so, I have a SERIOUS concern that these problems need to be fixed NOW, or Iām afraid it will have a cascading effect on different areas of your lifeā¦
