PetalPop Café has transformed the longtime home of Belen’s Flowers into a colorful neighborhood gathering place: while honoring the building’s Lansing history.

Lansing locals: history isn’t just something we look back on: it’s something we carry forward. 🏛️

Built in 1847, the historic Kilbourne-Mead House is being moved and restored in Old Town for a future life as an event and community space.

The home is connected to Lansing’s early history and to Joseph Kilbourne, who played an important role in Lansing becoming Michigan’s capital. Preserving places like this takes imagination, investment, and community care: and it gives future generations a chance to experience the stories that helped shape our city.
