The National Work Zone Memorial is on display once again — honoring more than 1,600 people nationwide who have lost their lives in work zone crashes. That includes road workers, motorists, pedestrians, law enforcement officers, public safety officials and children.

Hosted by the Michigan Department of Transportation, the memorial is a powerful reminder of the true cost of distracted driving and speeding.

This summer, travelers across Northern Michigan will see a bold message of thanks to the county road crews who responded after the historic ice storm of '25.

Billboards are now up on US-131, US-23 and I-75.

These dedicated road workers were among the first on the scene — clearing roads, enabling emergency response, and helping communities begin to recover.
