❄️ For much of Michigan, the first measurable snow of the season is expected this weekend! County road agencies are ready — are you?

According to the Michigan State Police, crash calls spike during the first snow — mostly because drivers don’t slow down or leave enough space between vehicles.

🚗 Here’s how you can help keep roads safe:
• 🐢 Slow down and increase following distance.
• ⚙️ Ease off the gas and steer into a skid. Don’t slam the brakes.
• 🧣 Pack a winter kit: flashlight, blanket, batteries, and warm gear.

Stay safe, everyone! 🌨️

Across Michigan, residents showed support for local road millages during the November 4 General Election, approving 100% of renewal proposals and half of new millages on local ballots.

The Michigan Legislature and Governor recently approved the largest-ever state funding increase for roads. Dollars from townships’ budgets and millages are the second-biggest source of funding for Michigan roads.

“These road millages and new state funding will leverage each other,” said CRA CEO Denise Donohue, “and will soon show up as meaningful strides on county primary and local roads.”
