CHECK IN. ASK. LISTEN. 💜🩵
Su***de prevention can start with something as simple as asking someone, “How are you doing?”
At a recent su***de awareness press conference hosted by 988 and AHEC, I had the opportunity to speak about the importance of checking in on the people around us, listening, and knowing where to turn when someone needs help.
If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
Next Saturday, September 5, our community will come together at North Central Park for a 5K/1K Run/Walk to raise awareness and support su***de prevention.

🏃 Run/Walk: 8:00–11:00 AM
Most importantly, don’t be afraid to ask.
“Research shows that asking someone directly about su***de does not increase suicidal thoughts—and it may open the door to getting them the help they need.”
Check in. Start the conversation. Listen. And remind the people around you that they don’t have to face difficult moments alone. 💜🩵
