The Webb County Heritage Foundation invites you to our final Movies on the Patio night of the season at the Border Heritage Museum !

Join us on Friday, October 17, for a screening of Sleepy Hollow (1999), directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci. This R-rated gothic classic promises an extra-spooky evening under the stars. Movies on the Patio is sponsored by Erica Garcia - Realtor and Lee Douglas Diaz, II

Enjoy the movie from the comfort of our provided chairs and grab something delicious from our local vendors: Gloria's Coffee Bar, Kirbior, My Lovely Any, The Last Bite, Mucho Pop Ice Cream, Hey Chula, Moonhowler Press, and Juan Jalapeña.

Plus, our friends at Tu Casa Gráfica will be joining us with a special hands-on activity, make your own thaumatrope and take home a little piece of movie magic!

Laredo Main Street is bringing their annual Pumpkin Patch to the Border Heritage Museum! The 🎃 patch is free and open to the public, and it’s the perfect spot to snap a fall photo.

They have fun activities planned, including Ghoul’s Night, where you can decorate a pumpkin, enjoy a charcuterie board, and sip a drink with your friends.

As part of the opening of Strange Possessions at the Border Heritage Museum, we will be hosting a Paranormal Chat featuring Nightmare Hour Paranormal founder, Jesús Moreno, and Laredo Paranormal Research Society founder, Ismael Cuéllar. Join us at 7:30 p.m. to hear their first-hand accounts of local paranormal investigations, chilling stories, and of course, their personal experiences with Emma, the haunted doll.

This exhibit is presented in partnership with the Webb County Heritage Foundation and the Laredo Paranormal Research Society.

Something eerie is stirring at the Border Heritage Museum. On Friday, October 3, from 6 to 9 p.m., during CaminARTE, Stranger Possessions return to the museum, presented by the Webb County Heritage Foundation in collaboration with NeverDead Entertainment. More than twenty haunted relics, gathered over three decades by the Laredo Paranormal Research Society, will be unveiled, including new artifacts never seen before.

The evening will also feature a special presentation about EMMA, the infamous haunted doll, by Ismael Cuellar, founder of the Laredo Paranormal Research Society and Jesús Moreno, founder of Nightmare Hour Paranormal. Do not miss this rare opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of Emma’s chilling story.

Guests will then be able to explore Haunted Heritage: Myths and Legends of Laredo, an exhibit that uncovers the darker tales hidden within our city’s past.

The Webb County Heritage Foundation kicks off its annual Movies on the Patio series on Friday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m. with the 1969 classic El Santo y Blue Demon vs. Los Monstruos. Presented in collaboration with Consulado General de México en Laredo, the film follows wrestling superheroes El Santo and Blue Demon as they battle the evil Dr. Halder and his army of reanimated monsters.

Guests can also enjoy a vendor market featuring Gloria's Coffee Bar, , , , , , , Juan Jalapeña and Tu Casa Grafica. Chairs will be provided, and the event is free and open to the public.

Laredo Film Society in partnership with the Webb County Heritage Foundation and La Posada Hotel, invite the community to a special cultural event featuring renowned chef, author, and filmmaker Adán Medrano.

Chef Medrano will present his book, The Texas Mexican Plant-Based Cookbook, along with a screening of his documentary, Truly Texas Mexican. Both works highlight ancestral ingredients and long-forgotten recipes that continue to shape and inspire our cultural identity today.

The event will take place on Saturday, October 4, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Border Heritage Museum. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Chef Medrano, enjoy a book signing, hear his insights, and experience a celebration of culinary traditions that connect our past with the present.

This event is free and open to the public.

Presenting the WCHF Interns of 2025 ✨

Mariela is a rising sophomore at Texas A&M University, where she’s majoring in Journalism and Communications. On campus, she’s actively involved in journalism and law clubs and works with the Department of Multicultural Services.

This summer, Mariela is bringing her storytelling skills to “The Webbcast,” our soon-to-debut short-form show designed for social media. We can’t wait to share it with you!

When she’s not diving into her studies, Mariela enjoys reading and playing volleyball. We're so excited to have her on the team!
