Colorado families and small businesses are under immense pressure and I have been sounding the alarm since Day 1 of this campaign. Skyrocketing living costs, crushing regulations, unaffordable housing, rising crime, government waste, and policies that punish job creators instead of empowering them.
These problems hit especially hard right here in State Senate District 4 which spans growing communities in Douglas County as well Fremont, Park, Lake, Custer, Jefferson, Chaffee and Teller Counties. In the suburban and foothill communities of Douglas County explosive growth brings opportunity but also drives up housing prices that push working families out, clogs our roads with traffic, and strains our great schools.
In Fremont, Teller and Lake counties we see different pressures where historic mining towns and rural economies face threats from overregulation while trying to expand and create sustainable high wage jobs. We feel the statewide ripple effects too including serious threats to our historic mining industry in places like Teller Countys Cripple Creek district where high wage jobs, rural economies, and critical mineral production for national security are at risk.
Colorado has become one of the most unfriendly states in the nation for small businesses. We are now the sixth most regulated state in the entire nation with over 205,000 state level regulatory restrictions. That massive burden of red tape is driving up costs, killing jobs, chasing opportunity away, and making it harder than ever for small business owners to succeed, hire, and grow right here in Colorado.
Colorado used to be a national leader as an energy and mining powerhouse producing abundant, affordable resources that kept families warm through our brutal winters and supported thousands of good paying jobs. Now, thanks to Governor Polis and one party Democrat control ramming through mountains of regulations and forced phase outs of reliable natural gas and coal, we are falling behind fast. Families in District 4 are struggling with spiking energy bills no one should have to choose between heating their home in a Colorado winter and putting food on the table. That is not inconvenience it is dangerous.
I am all for renewables where they make real economic sense, but we must use what actually works: an all of the above strategy that unleashes our natural resources, protects mining jobs, and puts affordability and families first.
As your next State Senator for District 4, here is how we fix it:
Slash the red tape not with a scapel but a chainsaw. Cut Colorados crushing regulatory burden, we are sixth worst in the nation, by streamlining permitting, reforming licensing, and eliminating excessive, duplicative rules that strangle small businesses, energy producers, and miners.
Unleash our energy and mineral potential. Stop the insane phase out of reliable natural gas and coal. Protect and grow mining communities and critical minerals production that powers jobs and security.
Defend TABOR and block new taxes, hidden fees, and mandates that hurt your wallet.
Fix housing and smart growth. Get government out of the way so we can build more affordably while preserving quality of life in District 4.
Restore law and order. Hold violent criminals accountable and keep our families and schools safe.
Audit government waste with a state level DOGE for real accountability and lower costs. Because with the amount of tax revenue Colorado brings in it shouldn't be possible to run into a 1.5 billion dollar deficit without gross incompetence or massive fraud.
None of this agenda becomes reality without real change in Denver. That is why it is time to flip the Colorado Senate RED this November! it is possible, and it is essential, if we want to stop the influx of taxes, red tape and regulations that are killing our state. Also essential for who ever the next governor is to have either ally or check on their power.
We have got strong Republican fighters in key flippable seats who need your support we need 6 to flip the Senate and these are the races its possible to do that, with your support. We are also one away from a super minority if the left manages to flip a seat such as mine or another incumbent R. so support the holds as well.
Dana Charles for Senate District 3
Against Nick Hinrichsen
Levon Stilson for Senate District 11
Against Tony Exum
Rich Mancuso for Senate District 20
Against Sheila Leider
Danielle Shannon Lammon for Senate District 27 against Tom Sullivan
Rob Woodward for Senate District 15 against Janice Marchman
Corey Marshall for Senate District 8 against Dylan Roberts .
SD 21 is also a flippable seat with real potential but unfortunately the current candidate has faced recent controversy and has not yet stepped aside to allow a strong replacement to be appointed. We need clear leadership there to secure that flip as well.
There are more potential flips but these are top targets. I need your help to win District 4, and they need your help to win theirs against the Democrat money machine. Even if they are not in your backyard, volunteer, donate, share their message, and vote like our state depends on it because it does.
We take Colorado back one seat at a time. Let us cut the red tape, lower costs, unleash opportunity for small businesses, and restore the Colorado Dream for every family and business.
