Our hearts are heavy for our communities across Southern New Mexico. We are wrapping our communities in southern Doña Ana County up in love as they have been deeply impacted by devastating floods. Many of our neighbors are now facing unimaginable loss and hardship.

The Greatest Needs Impact Fund for Dona Ana County has been activated to provide immediate and long-term support for the people, animals, and places affected by the floods. 100% of the funds raised go directly to support those affected.

Together, we can offer hope, strength, and support. ❤

With heavy hearts we share that a beloved member of our community has passed away.
Please keep their family and loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.

The Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office is mourning the loss of one of its own, who died in a crash while on duty Tuesday afternoon.

Patrol Deputy Antonio Aleman was on duty when his unit collided with a semi-truck on Interstate 10 near the Avenida De Mesilla exit around 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Aleman was transported to MountainView Regional Medical Center where life-saving measures were performed to no avail.

Deputy Aleman has been a valuable asset to the Sheriff's Office since April 2021 and will be dearly missed. Aleman will be transported to the Office of Medical Investigators Tuesday night and then returned home. DASO personnel will accompany Aleman until he is laid to rest, which will be announced at a later day.

Deputy Aleman was 33 years old, leaving behind his wife and two children.

The Sheriff's Office extends its deepest gratitude to the following partnering agencies for the support they've provided: Doña Ana Fire Rescue, New Mexico State Police Department, Border Patrol, Las Cruces Police Department, Las Cruces Fire Department and all partnering agencies who have provided support throughout the state.
