KTAL LP KTAL-LP 101.5 FM is an independent community radio station in Las Cruces, New Mexico. How are you? Can we do things differently?

We selected the call letters KTAL, because they sound like the Spanish phrase "que tal." If you are unfamiliar with that phrase, or your Spanish is a little rusty, it’s a colloquial expression that means “what’s up?” or “how’s it going?” It’s an informal way of saying “hello” and “how are you doing?” Here at KTAL Radio 101.5 FM, Las Cruces’ newest community radio station, we thought the call lett

ers K-T-A-L would be an appropriate shorthand to suggest that Spanish greeting. It also highlights a core mission we hope to accomplish each and every day: Asking our listeners, individually and collectively, How are things going? How are we?

“Que tal?” – and KTAL – asks: How are we doing together on this collective journey? What do you and what do we need as a community to thrive?

Working the door at LCR Fest from 2-5pm will be KTAL's The Buzzman, who hosts Reelin' in the Years. At the KTAL merchandise table (by the acoustic stage) from 2-5 will be Ed Long, the host of Acoustic Rainbow.
And all day long you will find Local Vibes Live hosts Alex and Casey at the acoustic stage outside. Of course, Las Cruces Rocks, Tom Larkin, will be running around all over The Destination.
Oh and we cannot forget that Without Borders' Loki will be handling security for the first shift inside The Destination . He won't be dressed as Popeye unfortunately. lcrfest.com

This Week on the Mesilla Valley Sports Show, Mike and Brian sit down with Centennial High School Coach Aaron Ocampo and standout athletes Luke Matherly and Aliyah Salas to talk about their four-year journey together in football and competitive powerlifting.

Both Luke and Aliyah are three-sport athletes and individual state champions—but their paths don’t stop there. Luke added track and field to the mix, while Aliyah broke barriers as a four-year football player for the Hawks and also competed in wrestling.
