I’m seriously at a loss for words guys. Go give little man’s pages a follow and sub to his YouTube, if you support me, go show Avery support too ❤️💛💚 It takes a village guys.
We’ve taken our time sharing this because, truthfully, we’re still trying to process it ourselves. But you all mean so much to Avery and our family that we felt the need to provide an update.
After nearly eight years of watching our little boy fight this horrible disease with everything he has, Avery has transitioned to hospice care.
These are incredibly difficult words to write. We’ve been here before. Twice, actually. And both times, somehow, Avery fought his way back. Maybe that’s part of what makes this so hard. A part of us will always hold onto hope for him.
Unfortunately, Avery’s most recent scans showed extensive progression. Tumors have invaded both lungs, with his right lung essentially sealed by fibrous tumor tissue. He is breathing primarily with his left lung, which also has significant disease, and now requires oxygen.
He also has a large tumor on his shoulder that has eaten into the bone and surrounding muscle. His liver is completely infiltrated with tumor, and he is once again battling hypercalcemia of malignancy.
For now, our focus is Avery.
Keeping him comfortable. Keeping him laughing and smiling his beautiful smile. Giving him things to look forward to and reminding our handsome boy every single day just how unbelievably loved he is.
We don’t know what the days ahead will look like or how much time we have. Rebecca and I are trying our hardest not to let fear of tomorrow steal today from us.
Right now, we’re choosing to be together as a family and cherish every moment we’re given. To laugh, love on each other, make memories, and soak in the ordinary moments just as much as the big ones. Being together is what matters most.
To everyone who has followed Avery, prayed for him, cheered for him, watched his videos, sent messages, or simply allowed this little boy into your heart: we thank you.
You have helped our little boy live out dreams bigger than he ever imagined and given him a community that loves him.
We’re still here. Still hoping. Still praying, begging even, for any semblance of a miracle.
But most importantly, we’re making sure our handsome boy knows just how deeply he is loved.
Please keep Avery in your prayers. ❤️
