Hello there, and welcome on back. It has been a while since we last spoke on this page… and in the time in between, this one had his annual rendezvous in that happy place in the desert.

There’s plenty to look forward to on my portals as I get to post the good stuff from this year’s installment of — and also past editions with new photos. And tonight DC YouTube has resumed posting vlogs from last year’s trip, with this year’s Vegas series premiering on Christmas.

Well, we have just enjoyed what might possibly be the most memorable game in the lifetimes of many of us. And though it could have ended with a better outcome in the favor of this one’s team, you couldn’t ask for a better first time for this to be held in the happy place.

The final night of 2023, and this year was one that had a lot of changes and a lot of everything too many to mention in this small little caption. But some things never change, like taking a DC Selfie in the middle of downtown Las Vegas and Fremont Street. Happy New Year to all wherever you are, and let’s hope 2024 will be good to you.

While on this most recent trip, I treated it as both a vacation and a work assignment: yes I had fun and got to enjoy everything Sin City has to offer. But at the same time, I was also busy capturing over seven hours of video and dozens of pics which you’ll see soon on here and my other portals, most especially on YouTube when you all gather with family & friends for Thanksgiving.

It’s because of that site that Las Vegas has become the equal of my other big passions of sports, music and those trashy drama-filled reality TV shows. It has become comfort food for me and my family during this time in this world and in our lives with a daily dose of vlogs, slot play, live streams and the like, and to also get a good idea of what I can expect when we go there. And it seems that those who we watch every day from home have become sort of like new cousins of sorts in my family.

For this week’s DC Selfie - and the second one from this trip, I got some special guests with me… and it was captured live on their YouTube stream on that Thursday night: say hola and Kamusta to Jaycation & Norma Geli. They’re at 100,000 YouTube subscribers (he celebrated it by dressing up as Bruno Mars on Halloween on Fremont) and perhaps one day, I may join them in that club… but for now, it was so awesome running into you two on my trip - I’m a loyal viewer of your vlogs. (And Jay and Norma aren’t the only YouTubers I met on this trip, more to come later)

As I chill on my own room & begin to make up on all of those lost ZZZ’s, here’s this lengthy little caption…

Almost from the very moment that this was all set in stone 127 days ago back on June 30, I literally waited all summer & fall all for just a precious four days of the biggest thing I look forward to… and invested time, resources & the like to prepare for it.

After all that my family has been through in the 708 days in between my eleventh & twelfth trips to this happy place in the desert, there’s a reason why Las Vegas is the perfect escape from all that’s going on in this chaotic world. And if you love this oasis as much as I do, then that’s why it meant so much for me to return once again like a reunion of a friend you’ve never seen in a while.

And after spending 64 hours on the ground in Southern Nevada, I seem to have had the perfect Vegas trip. I got to accomplish what I wanted to do and to enjoy: taking in this vibrant atmosphere of this favorite city, building on my burgeoning skills of being a well-rounded & full-time content creator, and adding a few more moments to the stories I’ll be telling all in my blog post on this trip. Not to mention, I had one of my greatest supporters in my mom by my side during all this — and had my dad been with us in person, it would’ve made this trip even more special — but he was with us in spirit.

But over the years, there’s some things just never change: that includes having to bring out an extended stick from the F***y pack in the middle of the greatest 3-mile stretch in our country, taking 10 seconds to get all prepared, and flash that smile with the Strip as the background… and in that same spot & same place outside of my family’s favorite casino. Just one exception: this one takes place during the daytime hours, but the feeling is the same as in every edition of this… and one that never gets old even as I await my birthday next month.
