As a high-risk mama, here’s what my daily medication routine looks like:
☀️ Morning
• Prenatal Vitamin – provides essential nutrients like folic acid, iron, and other vitamins that support my health and baby’s growth and development.
• Iron – helps prevent anemia and supports healthy oxygen flow for me and baby.
• Vitamin D3 – supports my immune system and helps baby’s bones and teeth develop.
• Vitamin B12 – supports energy levels, healthy blood cells, and nervous system function.
• Omega-3 – helps support baby’s brain and eye development.
And yes, I take my iron with orange juice because the vitamin C helps my body absorb it better. 🍊
🌤️ Lunchtime
• Montelukast – helps manage my asthma and breathing.
• Half of my Labetalol – helps keep my blood pressure under control.
🌙 Nighttime
• Magnesium – supports muscle function and may help with cramps, headaches, and overall wellness.
• Loratadine – helps manage my allergies.
• Half of my Labetalol – helps keep my blood pressure stable throughout the night.
It might seem like a lot, but every one of these has a purpose. Some support my baby’s growth and development, some help manage existing health conditions, and others help keep this high-risk pregnancy as healthy as possible.
Growing a tiny human is already a full-time job. Add in the medications, appointments, monitoring, and planning, and some days I feel like I’m managing a small medical practice. 😂
But if it helps keep me and baby girl healthy, I’m taking every pill with gratitude. 💕
Any other moms out there feel like their pill organizer deserves employee benefits at this point?
