The Casino opened in 1976 as a modest gambling spot next to a budget motel, later changing its name to Bingo Palace to attract locals. In 1984, a public naming contest gave rise to Palace Station, complete with railroad-inspired neon signs. Under Frank Fertitta Jr.’s ownership, the property expanded into a high-rise resort and became the first member of the growing Station Casinos chain. It made headlines over the years—most notably for a record-setting $27 million slot jackpot and the 2007 O.J. Simpson incident. After a major renovation from 2016 to 2019, Palace Station shed its train theme and donated vintage signs to the Neon Museum, preserving its place in Las Vegas history as a well-loved local favorite.
