The Holy Spirit will physically direct me. I'll be walking, ready to go right because I saw something, and I can physically feel Him redirecting me. Because I've asked for this — I know what's moving me sometimes. The ADD, the flesh, all the other things going on? That's not me. That's my flesh. But He's transforming me. God created us with intention — for how we look, where He's placed us in the world, the people whose lives we're in. All of this is part of a greater plan we won't fully understand until we get to heaven. And even then, we probably won't fully understand, because God is God. We can't rely on surface impressions — we risk being harmed by others when we do. The only way to be covered by God is to ask and to be obedient. Hebrews 4:12-13 — "God's word discerns thoughts and intentions. Nothing is hidden from Him." We can't trust what we think we see. Actions alone will never show us the true motives in others. There are spiritual attachments and motives that don't always show in the natural. When God says stay away, He's protecting us from things we can't even see. Psalm 32:8 — "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." When God says no, it's not because He's withholding good things. It's because He sees what would bring death, destruction, hurt, and harm. Like a parent walking with a child learning to walk — He won't always physically move us, but He will instruct us. Hidden motives are dangerous. Satan presents himself as an angel of light — and people do the same. The surface says "I'm just trying to help," but the true motive can be to manipulate, destruct, and take advantage. We have to position ourselves carefully and let God reveal what's really there.
