LAS VEGAS — Filipino Americans gathered at Palm Northwest this weekend for the 4th annual Sinulog celebration, honoring the Feast of Santo Niño with vibrant faith, cultural pride, and community spirit.
Held on Sunday, January 11, the event began with a liturgy service officiated by Fr. Frank Yncierto. Attendees were invited to bring their Santo Niño statues for a special blessing, reinforcing the deep spiritual connection that defines this centuries-old devotion.
Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery, which hosts a permanent structure honoring Señor Santo Niño, has become a meaningful site for the Filipino community—offering a place not only for remembrance but for ongoing celebration of faith and heritage.
Sinulog, one of the Philippines’ most cherished religious festivals, continues to serve as a cultural lifeline for the Filipino diaspora—especially those far from Cebu. In Las Vegas, where the Filipino population is rapidly growing, the festival has become a tradition that rekindles cultural memory and strengthens ties within the Fil-Am community.
Drumbeats, prayer, traditional dances, and colorful attire filled the grounds as families, youth groups, and cultural organizations came together to celebrate. Lunch was served following the service, adding to the communal warmth of the occasion.
Supported by organizations like the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) and the Bikolnon Association of Las Vegas, the Sinulog celebration in Las Vegas highlights how Filipino heritage and religious devotion continue to thrive—even in the heart of the Nevada desert.
