90 SECONDS OF WPPI….
Every year, after attending the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International conference and convention (WPPI - ) here in Las Vegas, I usually make a 60-second video with snippets, vignettes, soundbites, visuals, plus lots of other stuff, just to try capture the vibe and feeling of being there. It’s fun to show those who can’t or wouldn’t attend what it’s like, and for me, it’s a way to remember and commemorate.
I always say that it’s the best week of my professionally year, and that remains true. It’s tremendously important and valuable to me. It’s made me the photographer I am today. It’s made me the person I am today. It’s facilitated creative growth, business growth, skill, and so much more, and so I want to share that.
This year, I branched out a bit, going beyond my traditional 60 second video where I string together 60 1-second clips. I had so much this year, I went to 90 seconds. I let some of the clips breathe, going to 2- or 3-second clips. It’s a departure from form, but I think a good one. Evolution is growth, after all.
I would’ve been done sooner but alas, I got sick with my usual post WPPI flu and was laid up in bed for many of the days following. Nevertheless, here it is, only 10 days late. So, further ado, here’s this year‘s 90 SECONDS OF WPPI.
Enjoy! I did.
