Big things are climbing into view at DISCOVERY Children’s Museum! 🔭

DISCOVERY Children's Museum is reimagining its iconic 70-foot, 12-level climbing tower with Desert to the Stars, a new immersive exhibit targeted to open in April 2028.

The 3,500-square-foot experience will take children and families on a journey through Southern Nevada’s natural environment. Through hands-on experiences, storytelling and technology, visitors will discover the region’s unique plants and wildlife while learning about biodiversity, conservation and the landscapes beyond Las Vegas.🌵

The exhibit will also highlight nearby parks and wilderness areas, including Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Mead National Recreation Area and Avi Kwa Ame National Monument.

SAFE House NV was featured on KSNV News 3 Las Vegas to talk about the latest addition to their resource and shelter libraries: Talia H. Kasinski’s children’s book, “The S.A.F.E. Den.”

Created as part of her Girl Scout Silver Award, Talia’s book was designed to help young shelter residents feel more comfortable and informed during a difficult time.

A new resource is helping young shelter residents at S.A.F.E. House feel a little more understood and supported.💜

The S.A.F.E. Den, a new children’s book created by 14-year-old Talia H. Kasinski as part of her Girl Scout Silver Award, is now part of S.A.F.E. House's online resource and shelter libraries.

Designed to help young shelter residents feel more comfortable and informed during a difficult transition, the story follows four young animals who navigate challenging home environments and come together to create a safe space where they can share their feelings and support one another.

Limited copies of The S.A.F.E. Den are available at SAFE House NV main office and shelter, with the book also available online.

Twenty-five years ago today, our world changed. We lost neighbors, friends, parents, children, and in the days that followed, we saw the very best of humanity rise up: first responders running toward danger, strangers helping strangers, and an entire nation coming together in grief, compassion and hope.

A quarter century later, we still remember. We honor those we lost and the heroes who gave everything to save others. And we carry that same spirit of compassion and unity forward, because some things should never fade with time. 🇺🇸❤️
