Our next Stories of Diversity will be our biggest event yet.

Shane Campfield has been autism advocate for many years. He has lived a diverse lifestyle, working at many theme parks, and also working as a teacher for the pathways program. He's overcome many obstacles in life, including losing both parents at a very early age. He is currently a dj, and spreads his love for music throughout Florida. He's co-founded the motivational speaking company hurdle. He has been the focus of many News interviews, where he shows pride in helping others out in the autism community. His biggest accomplishment is that he runs a Self Advocacy Photography Business called Shane’s World where he spreads his message and ideas through the outlet of celebrity photography and Handling. Nicknamed “Orlando’s TMZ”

I want to create more and better virtual events. I love the idea of taking one subject and having an open forum where everyone discusses it and we get questions from attendees. What do you think?

All my life I have been an introvert. I'm more comfortable alone or, at the very least, in smaller groups of people. I love concerts, but if I'm in a room full of people and can't do a 360-degree turn in my chair, I generally don't want to be there. Many people with disabilities I have met feel the same way. I want to create the best virtual event for people with disabilities, their families, people within the disabled community, and anyone who feels more comfortable and alive with fewer people around. What virtual event ideas do you have?

The Cure For Judgment Is Conversation

When you start or continue a conversation you build a bridge between yourself and someone who is different from yourself. You learn about the other person and depending on the depth of that talk you can change how you see other people, their situation, and yourself. What is the judgment you place on others. It is seeing others in a way that diminishes them and their story. Conversation slowly over time changes how you show up for others. Conversation won't eliminate judgment. However, over time in depth conversations where you learn about the other person will change how you see them and the judgment you feel for them will diminish.
