It’s amazing what can be created from such an inconspicuous photo.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 James Stanford Art:
opened while I was in high school. The fountains in front became a place where high school students and kids from occasionally took a dip or poured soap suds into the water, sending bubbles oozing out all over the porte-cochère. Evel Knievel broke nearly every bone in his body attempting to jump the fountains on his Triumph motorcycle on New Year’s Eve of 1967. I had to celebrate this world-famous icon of the Las Vegas Strip. Caesars is definitely one of my holy places of the sacred and profane.

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗮 is a professional photographer, writer, and artist living in the city of Las Vegas. Originally from the Boston area, Shea moved to Las Vegas in 2005. In 2011, he began working on new projects that focused on improving the awareness of art and culture in Las Vegas. As of November 2016, Shea works as a graphic and editorial designer while serving as the treasurer of the Las Vegas Arts District. He is an enthusiast interested in capturing the evolution of street art within Las Vegas.

𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧-
American multimedia artist James Stanford has earned an international reputation for his exploratory practice founded on the values of meditation. Stanford creates visual expressions of spirituality, Zen Buddhism, and metaphysics. In his Shimmering Zen series, the artist digitally transforms iconic vintage signage from Las Vegas into mandala creations. Finding beauty in discarded signs, he seeks to transform the profane into the sacred.

Stanford earned his MFA from the University of Washington and BFA from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. His work can be found in numerous international private collections in the United States and the United Kingdom. During his time as Las Vegas Arts Commissioner, he developed Lightscapes, a program that was recognized by Art in America as one of the top 20 public art projects. In addition, Stanford is an independent book publisher heading Smallworks Press which specializes in art and culture publications.

𝗔𝗨𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧-
Fred Sigman is an art historian and photographer whose scholarly and artistic activities have revolved around the meanings we attach to our experiences of a place. Combining his interests in the art history of where he travels with his practice of photography, Fred developed long-term projects in Barbizon and the Fontainebleau Forest, the 18th century Missionary Churches of the Baja Peninsula, motels and casinos of Las Vegas, the geoaesthetics of preserving desert wetlands in Nevada, and ancient sites such as Angkor Wat and Machu Picchu.

Since an early age, Fred has traveled the world motivated by the same questions that have weighed on other travelers such as Chatwin, R.L. Stevenson and Bashō. What am I doing here?

Fred currently lives in Siem Reap, Cambodia while remaining on the faculty of the College of Southern Nevada as an Art History Professor.
