Compton, CA - Former City Council member Isaac Galvan who served on the Compton council from 2013 to 2022, pleaded guilty to federal charges of bribery and tax evasion. He admitted to bribing Baldwin Park Councilman Ricardo Pacheco with $70,000 in exchange for green permits

Galvan's bribes were intended to secure Pacheco's political support in 2018. Pacheco previously pleaded guilty to bribery after FBI investigations, agreeing to cooperate with authorities. Galvin eventually lost his seat amid a vote-rigging scandal resulting in election fraud charges.

The ex-councilman faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison on the bribery charge, with sentencing set for June of 2026.

Scientists are searching for better ways to treat ovarian cancer, as current medications often come with serious side effects and limited success.

Researchers at Khon Kaen University in Thailand are turning their attention to green compounds as a potential alternative.

In a recent study published in Frontiers in Pharmacology, the team found that a specific combination of green compounds was able to kill ovarian cancer cells while leaving healthy cells unharmed.

The study also revealed that this compound mixture interferes with cancer-related signaling pathways, reducing proteins linked to tumor growth and restoring a protein that helps suppress cancer.

The findings open the door to further research into safer, more effective ovarian cancer treatments.

Lee County, SC - A drone carrying green was intercepted at Lee Correctional Institution in South Carolina. But that's not all, the drone was transporting not only green but also ingredients for a gourmet meal including Crab legs, Old Bay Seasoning, and steak.

The South Carolina Department of Corrections addressed the attempted contraband delivery on X with the hashtag . No arrests have been made, and it's unclear who was operating the drone or who the delivery was meant for.

Arizona, US ~ A study from Arizona State University finds that dogs given C*D over time exhibit a decrease in aggressive behavior.

The study analyzed data from over 47,000 dogs, finding that those with conditions like cancer or arthritis were more likely to use C*D. Results indicate that consistent use correlates with a decline in aggression intensity, which could have implications for dog training.

Researchers emphasize the need for more studies to determine C*D’s long-term effectiveness and safety in dogs. They call for further trials with quantifiable data to better understand C*D's role in canine health and behavior.

Also, it’s important to note that these products aren’t regulated by the FDA, so always be sure to do research your before using them on your pets.
