"You're not going crazy. You're just going sane in a crazy world!" — the iconic catchphrase of The Tick, a hilariously eccentric superhero who first hit TV screens in 1994 in the animated series on Fox Kids.

Based on the quirky comic book character created by Ben Edlund in 1986, The Tick is a lighthearted satire of American superhero conventions. The show is filled with over-the-top battles, absurd villains, and plenty of comedic moments rooted in parody. At the center is The Tick — a nearly indestructible, blue-suited giant with a thunderous voice and a kind heart, even if his grip on reality is a bit loose.

The story kicks off as The Tick graduates from the mysterious National Superhero Institute in Reno, Nevada, and is assigned to defend a place simply called “The City.” There, he soon teams up with Arthur — a mild-mannered accountant in a moth costume, who represents the everyman caught in a world of bizarre heroes and villains.

Together, this mismatched duo patrols the streets, taking on an outrageous array of enemies and crossing paths with an oddball assortment of fellow superheroes throughout the series. The humor thrives on surrealism and clever self-awareness, poking fun at superhero clichés while still celebrating what makes the genre so entertaining.

If you've been following along today, you may notice a theme. The 1992 X-Men series held a special place for many of us among the numerous 90s superhero animated series'. I vividly remember friends introducing me to the X-Men on the playground, with me being clueless about what they were talking about. This one holds deep memories for me. I may also have a strong opinion on the fact that this was the most epic theme song of any of the super hero shows.

Proud to have worked on this fun cartoon and I loved Evolution

I can’t really say that this is an ultimate classic or that I get that warm fuzzy nostalgic feeling… but Evolution: The Animated Series was definitely alright.

Also known as Alienators: Evolution Continues, this early 2000s cartoon picked up where the Ivan Reitman film Evolution left off. A meteor crashes into the Arizona desert, bringing with it rapidly evolving alien organisms called the “Genus.”

To stop them from wiping out life on Earth, a team of scientists.. Dr. Ira Kane, Harry Block, Lucy Mai, and the always-clueless Wayne Green..team up as the Alienators. Their mission? Study these weird new creatures and take them down, all while dealing with the alien leader Scopes, a humanoid Genus with big villain energy.

It only ran for 26 episodes, but if you liked your cartoons with gooey monsters and fast-paced sci-fi action, this one was a fun ride while it lasted.
