I was just working on a song. Music is just like sales, KISS/Keep It Simple Stupid….. I use that everyday in my work. Always let the customer do more talking. Keep them engaged.
When I’m writing music, because I want to test my limits and I do too much. I keep reminding myself of songs, that have been huge hits, that had a very simple guitar riff, or drum beat.
Tonight I was reminding myself of the Nirvana song. “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” Most of the song is 1 strum on one string, followed by a strum on a lower key string, that rings out.
