This will be my last post for the foreseeable future. I am withdrawing my support from an organization that I believe has become overtly toxic and hostile to people who are already oppressed, and I won't be part of that anymore.

So I am leaving the Meta platforms behind. I will not be posting here, Threads, or my personal page. Thank you all for being here, your support, and for helping to grow this page into what it became. I hope you all are safe and well in your respective worlds.

Hey, everyone. After ten years on this platform, I made the hard decision to walk away from Facebook at the beginning of March. I don’t feel right about continuing to support a platform that allows people to hatefully target the marginalized. So I’ll be leaving all Meta platforms; Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, during the first week of March. I won’t be shutting the page down, but I will not be active on it.

If you’d like to stay up on creative prompts, my adventures, mental health stuff, and writing, I’m going to move everything over to Substack. I’m also active on Bluesky. Hope to see you guys there.

I hate math. Almost to the point of irrationality.
I'm trying to take a placement test for college math. I legit barely understood the tutorial. When I tried to get into Mathplanet (an excellent free resource for math tutoring) I got viscerally angry.

I got angry because I was afraid. I'm afraid that if I place too poorly, I'll get put in a remedial class (which, to be honest, would probably be best) and it will greatly set back my ability to get my associates and transfer. I'm afraid that it will never make sense to me because, in nearly fifty years on this planet, it never has. It seems so unnecessarily complicated and overwrought. How people make a living at this is absolutely beyond me (and you have my respect).

None of this changes the fact that this is something I have to do. I'm hoping that if I'm willing to confess what I'm afraid of openly, we can destigmatize being afraid of things that may not make sense to others. And math scares the hell out of me. That's why it makes me angry.

Anyway, I"m glad I married a math whiz. I need to call my mother.

Not everything requires a logical response or your understanding.

Spent the day out and discovered a new coffee shop not far from home. Knocked out a little writing, had an awesome breakfast burrito and decent butterbrew coffee. Also the staff here was some of the most courteous I've ever encountered in Vegas, and that's saying something.

Good morning! So hey, if you have a subject you're particularly weak in, maybe don't pick the end of the week when you're more fried than a fresh bucket of Popeyes to do your studying. Now you know. In the meantime, Ima drink my breakfast, chill with my cat and get ready to spend most of the day out.
