Super excited about this release !!!
DIRTY LITTLE ROBOTS. I’ve known Giles for over 30 years. We had rival bands In Bournemouth in the mid 90s. We lost contact for a while but one day last Christmas Giles sent me 4 songs in a slightly rough but lyrically complete with vocals , guitars and beats. There was a lot of energy and vision.
I could hear what direction the production and arrangements should go so I got to work . The more I listened the more infectious his lyrics and Melodie’s became. His comedic side shines through and his honesty is stamped all over songs like Fine On My Own, reminding me of Pixies , Wilco and Grandaddy with an alternative Rock / Folk tone.
One of the most simple tracks on the EP is The Secret, a one man and his guitar ( Neil Young vibes ) song. Recorded in the mountains in snowdonia . The Secret feels like a tale about a man confiding in a friend about an affair racked with guilt but with a new found love but Giles told me “ no .. it’s about alcoholism “
