A teacher with more than 10 years of experience is sharing the five reasons he's quitting, and, in a sign of the times, not one of them is about low pay. While owning a home can come with many perks, it sometimes means dealing with an HOA and its rules. That seemed to be the case for a North Carolina couple who found themselves embroiled in a legal battle with their HOA over a $100 parking fine.

Jeffrey Baldwin and his husband were almost at risk of losing the home they've lived in for 20 years over an incident that had absolutely nothing to do with them. Apparently, the HOA mistakenly labeled the couple's pickup truck a commercial vehicle and silently kept fining them until they faced a foreclosure.

An HOA in Charlotte, North Carolina, attempted to foreclose on a couple's house over a $100 parking fine for a vehicle they didn't even have.

Intelligent people put their all into what they have to say. While it seems like their words are flying right out of their head, the truth about intelligence is that most highly intelligent individuals think pretty carefully before they speak.

This is why, if having to repeat yourself makes you fly into a rage, you have unusually high intelligence. There's nothing worse than not feeling heard.

As the Davidson Institute explains, "The intense emotions and heightened sensitivities that come with being profoundly gifted can often lead to frustration and outbursts." So while intelligent people may do their best to keep their cool and rein in their emotions, just because their facial expression is blank doesn't mean they aren't secretly seething on the inside.

We're all told to strive to hit certain milestones in life. But it's pretty easy to feel like there are a whole bunch of overrated adult goals that aren't really worth the trouble, especially if you're old enough to think about it in hindsight.

Adulting isn't always what it's cracked up to be, especially when the goals and dreams you have for yourself suddenly seem impossible to achieve. People shared the overrated adult goals we're all told to go after that aren't really worth the effort.

We all have moments when our brains just go blank, and there's nothing really floating around up there. No daydreams, intrusive thoughts, or even just your mind mindlessly wandering to a random topic. Scientists have a name for it: "mind blanking."

Researchers at Sorbonne University in Paris found what might actually be happening in people's brains when our minds go blank.
