Yesterday, I asked a simple question: "At 57, who do I become when I'm completely healed, fully embodied, and living from rest instead of survival?"

The response was overwhelming. Hundreds of women—in their 50s, 60s, and 70s—shared their stories of discovering themselves for the first time at midlife.

Women transitioning from survival mode to sovereign living.

Women letting the warrior finally rest.

Women realizing they're capable of so much more than they believed.

Women asking: "Who am I when I'm not performing for everyone else?"

What happened in the past does not define you.

What defines you is who you are becoming as you move forward.

You are not bound by what you survived. You are not limited by what you carried. You are not defined by the weight you once held or the roles you had to play.

You are defined by your choice to inhabit your healing. To embody your sovereignty. To step into the fullness of who God created you to be.

This is not about leaving the past behind as if it never mattered. Your past shaped you. It refined you. It taught you endurance, discernment, and strength.
But it does not get to script your future.

The sovereign soft life is not built by erasing your story. It’s built by choosing yourself because of your story—and deciding that what comes next will be lived from rest, not survival.

You are becoming her. Not a better version of yourself. Not a fixed version of yourself.

The most embodied, most whole, most present version of yourself.

And that woman? She’s been waiting for you to choose her.

At 57, I’m finally choosing myself. This is the year I BECOME.

Let me be clear about what I mean when I say “BECOME.”

I’m not talking about a surface-level glow-up. I’m talking about BECOMING the woman God always intended you to be—fully embodied, fully sovereign, fully alive.

🔥 “BECOME” means:

✨Break every lie you believed about yourself

✨Elevate your standards without apology

✨Choose yourself as an act of sacred stewardship

✨Operate in faith, not fear

✨Move with intention and discernment

✨Embody the woman you’ve been praying to be.

For too many of us, “becoming” has felt like striving, performing, or fixing ourselves into someone we think we’re supposed to be.

But that’s not what I’m teaching.

This isn’t about becoming someone new. This is about becoming who you’ve always been underneath the weight, the roles, and the postponement.

For years, I thought strength meant carrying everything without breaking.

I thought “soft” was weakness. I thought rest was something I’d earn someday.

At 57, I’m learning the truth: Soft doesn’t mean weak. It means I’ve built a life that doesn’t require hardness to survive.

The sovereign soft life isn’t about someone else carrying my weight. It’s about removing the unnecessary weight I was never meant to carry.

This is what embodied strength looks like. This is Kingdom living. This is the Proverbs 31 woman reclaimed.

If you’ve been performing strength while secretly starving for your own life to begin—this is your permission.

You don’t have to keep carrying what was never yours.

Ladies, have you spent your whole life being "the strong one"—while your own life waited in the wings?

I am 57, and I am finally meeting myself for the first time.

For sixteen years, my body was a tool for caregiving.

For a decade, my heart was a reservoir for grief.

Through three bouts of sepsis, my life became a battlefield of survival.

I was "Making-it-work Karen." "Grief-carrying Karen." "Postponed Karen."

I did not waste my life. I postponed myself so others could live.

But in August 2024, I made what I now call the Sacred Exit.

I drove across the country—away from the familiar, toward the unknown—not because I was lost, but because I was finally ready to be found.

I landed in Las Vegas. I reunited with my son. And I started asking a question I'd never had the space to ask before:

Who am I when I'm not surviving? Who am I when I'm fully alive?

I am not "starting over." I am emerging.

I am not "late." I am on time.

I am building what I call The Sovereign Soft Life—a way of living and working where:

* Peace is a design constraint, not a reward
* Sabbath is the architecture of the week
* Strength is measured not by how much weight we carry, but by how much unnecessary weight we have the courage to put down

This is not soft because someone else carries the weight.

This is soft because I've removed the unnecessary weight.

This is not soft because life is easy.

This is soft because I've built a life that doesn't require hardness to survive.

I teach this now—to women who've spent their lives being "the strong one" while secretly starving for their own life to begin.

This isn't a pivot. This is embodiment.

If you've been waiting for permission to choose yourself—even at 47, 52, 57, 63—this is it.

You are not too late. You are not selfish. You are not abandoning anyone.

You are emerging. And it's time.

This season is not about rushing or proving. It is about standing fully present, trusting what has already been written, and allowing grace to do its work.
