Town & Country Supply was excited to be a stop on the “For the Farmers” Tour this morning. Tom Schultz had his live broadcast at our Mega Fertilizer Plant this morning interviewing our team members Michael Hugo, Jennifer Reinhardt and Josh Starr. Attendees toured the facility and were able to ask questions and see how a plant of this scale is run. Thank you to Northern Ag Broadcasting for making us part of your great event.

Our Agronomy Team has been busy soil sampling lots of fields daily so make sure you contact us and get on the calendar for us to get to your fields. This is so important to determine soil fertility, pH, and nutrient levels to guide management decisions in the future, and identify problems now. These two guys, Richter and Etienne are some of the best at taking samples and they understand how important it is to get quality samples for quality results.

Calling all chicken lovers! here is some great information on chickens and what to expect when it comes to laying eggs. Make sure you stop at one of our three farm & ranch stores for all of your chicken feed and supplies.

🥚 The Egg Countdown Begins ⏰

At around 16 to 20 weeks of age, pullets (young hens) typically start laying. But it’s not just about hitting a number—several factors influence when they’ll lay their first egg.

Key readiness signs include:
🐓 Good body condition (muscle, bone, and lung development)
⚖️ Balanced nutrition and essential micronutrients (like biotin and B12)
🔄 Consistent care and feeding routines

A hen’s body won’t begin egg production until it has the resources to do so properly. Once all systems are go, the egg-laying process can begin! 🙌

This is an exciting time for backyard flock owners! It's good to be prepared!
